Melrose Park, IL November 7, 2014 – KeraCare proudly supported the Chicago Chapter of the Continental Societies, Inc. during their annual scholarship luncheon on Saturday October 25, 2014. For the past 36 years, the Chicago Chapter has held this event as a means of generating scholarship funds for underprivileged youth. Local teenagers were featured during the program to display artistic talents through interpretive dance and song which align with one of the national thrusts of the Continental Societies to expose, excite and empower youth in the area of arts and humanities.
KeraCare is supportive of the community it serves. As a product sponsor for the past 5 years, KeraCare has contributed to the excitement and success of the event. Each year, the Chicago Chapter of the Continental Societies raises money to award to 2 high school seniors in the Chicago metropolitan area aspiring to go to college. Scholarship winners are selected based on grades, extra-curricular activities and an essay which must also be presented verbally before a live audience.
Avlon is aware of the importance of encouraging youth and its direct impact on the future of our community.

In recognition of KeraCare’s continuous support in product gifting contributions, the Continental Societies, Inc. presented an appreciation award to Monique Barnett, Avlon’s KeraCare Product Manager. This year, KeraCare donated a tan & white tote bag decorated with aspirations like “Confident”, “Unique”, “Beautiful” and “Strong” to raffle off during the event to generate additional scholarship funds. The bag was filled with full sizes of the complete KeraCare Natural Textures line, including the new KeraCare Natural Textures Honey Shea Co-Wash and KeraCare Natural Textures Deep Moisturizing Masque. In addition, Avlon provided the Scholarship Luncheon attendees with a gift bag containing KeraCare Natural Textures travel size samples and foil samples of the new KeraCare Natural Textures Honey Shea Co-Wash and Deep Moisturizing Masque.
The Annual Continental Societies Chicago Chapter Scholarship Luncheon took place at Niko’s Banquets located at 7600 S. Harlem in Bridgeview, IL.
